FHC
provides clinical, educational, and support services to families either
considering or experiencing pregnancy and parenthood. Classes are available in
Family Planning, Early Prenatal Care, Labor and Delivery, Prepared Childbirth,
and Car Seat Safety.

Classes for expectant parents

Early Prenatal Class
In this class, you’ll
learn about having a healthy pregnancy, including eating well, staying active,
coping with discomforts, and accessing local resources for pregnant women. For
women in their first or second trimester of pregnancy.

Labor and Delivery Class
Learn
about what to expect during labor, when to go to the hospital, procedures that
may be used during labor, and preparing after the baby is born. A videotaped
birth is shown. For women in their second or third trimester of pregnancy.
§
Prepared Childbirth Classes
This
4-hour class covers what to expect during labor, when to go to the hospital,
procedures that may be used during labor, and preparing after the baby is born.
You and your labor partner will also learn and practice relaxation exercises and
breathing techniques to help cope with the work of labor and birth. Several
videotaped births are shown. For women in their second or third trimester of
pregnancy.

Car Seat Safety Class
Car crashes are the one of the
leading cause of death for children. Infant car seats are provided for
newborns 5 to 22 pounds (available to FHC prenatal patients only).
Forward-facing car seats are provided for toddlers up to 50 pounds (available to
FHC pediatric patients only). Learn how to
safely use your car seat and install it in your car. Cost: $15.
Booster seats for children 40 pounds
and up. Free!
Bike helmets for children, teens, and
adults. Cost: $5.
