FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS NAMES NEW CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Press Release

Dr. Miranda Coole to be the new head physician at the nonprofit

LOUISVILLE, KY Family Health Centers (FHC), Inc. announced today that Dr. Miranda Coole will be the organization’s new Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This appointment follows the retirement of Dr. James Jackson, who served as the organization’s CMO since 2014 and has been with FHC for thirty years.

Dr. Miranda Coole grew up in Northern Kentucky but is happy to call Louisville her chosen home. She is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, OH. She earned her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Residency in Grand Junction, CO. Dr. Coole is a Family Physician who provides primary care for patients of all ages. She has dedicated her career to serving medically underserved populations, including completing her National Health Service Corps service in St. Louis, MO, before joining Family Health Centers in 2015. “I’m honored to become part of the leadership team, as ,Chief Medical, here at Family Health Centers,” said Dr. Coole.  “Our mission and work are essential and extend well beyond a medical visit.

Dr. Jackson graduated from the University of South Alabama and then attended the University of Louisville for his medical residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Jackson spent almost his entire career at the Family Health Centers, joining the nonprofit medical center in January of 1993 as a full-time Adult Primary Care physician. “I initially joined FHC because I thought I could spend a few months at FHC while I decided the right fit for me in medicine,” stated Dr. Jackson. “The experience of being there for people who otherwise would not have access to quality care grew on me, and before I knew it I realized that working at FHC was exactly what I wanted and needed”.
