I have enjoyed empowering patients with their health since I first became a nurse. As a family nurse practitioner, I appreciate hearing from patients and working together to make a plan to reach shared health goals. I was originally drawn to working in a Healthcare for the Homeless program in New York City and when love brought me to Louisville several years ago I was thrilled to continue seeing patients in this program at Phoenix.
When I am not working at FHC, I am usually outside hiking with my family! I also fill my time teaching nursing students and pursuing my PhD in nursing exploring patient health care engagement. I have published on travel health and given presentations via webinar and at conferences on factors of resilience and social support in adolescents who are homeless, medical home visits to transitional housing residents, and engaging women without homes in health care.
