I grew up in a small town in North Alabama. Eventually, I moved to Louisville to attend my Internal Medicine residency at the University of Louisville. After a couple of years working in private medical practice, I joined Family Health Centers in 1993. It didn’t take long for me to realize that providing medical care to people who were underserved was especially rewarding and that FHC was a great place to fulfill that mission.
I spent almost the next 30 years working at Family Health Centers, first as a physician and later in an administrative role until I retired in late 2023. After some time in retirement, I found that I missed my colleagues and helping people at FHC, so I returned in a part-time capacity.
