About

I appreciate stories. We all have stories – individually and collectively. I learn from and through people by the stories of their experiences. I value challenging myself to reflect on various perspectives and how persons like to be treated; recognizing all the pieces of the story that make them who they are and the bonds we share through humanity. I feel fulfilled working with underserved populations. My professional experiences include working in the specialized areas of migrant health, caring for those experiencing homelessness, “at risk” youth populations as well as immigrant and refugee health. During my graduate education, I had the opportunity to study with Dr. Madeleine Leininger, nurse anthropologist and theorist. I feel blessed that our family lives in the neighborhood where I practice. My husband, daughter, son and I enjoy taking care our small variety of animals, travelling, various styles of music, trying new foods and serving our community.
