About

Ramona Browning, MD, a native of Texas graduated from Medical School from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio arrived in Louisville completing a residency program in 1994 in pediatrics at the University of Louisville School of Medicine at the Children’s Hospital. Since 1994, Dr. Browning has provided pediatric service to the community of Louisville and surrounding areas with diverse experiences working with Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinics, private practice and ownership of her own practice from 2003 to 2012. Dr. Browning opened her own practice, Metro Pediatric Associates, in 2003, assuming a dual role as both a physician and sole proprietor. Until 2012, she dutifully grew her practice as both a physician and business owner. In addition to serving her own practice families she established a clinic on site at Brooklawn serving medical needs of at risk youths residing there and providing services for residents also at Bellwood and later Maryhurst. In addition, she had assumed roles beyond her regular duties to care for children at Audubon Hospital as a Pediatric House Physician and Baptist Hospital as an after hours pediatrician in the Pediatrics Emergency Department. After 2012 with time spent in Kentucky, Florida and Colorado, Dr. Browning worked with several private practices in Louisville and the surrounding rural areas of Kentucky when able. She was especially fond of working with Dr. Grewal for his private practices in Lebanon and Campbellsville. After 2017, she returned to Louisville to work with Pediatric Neonatal Specialist leaving in 2021 to work again at a federally qualified health center now Family Health Center serving as a general pediatrician.

Dr. Browning is a Board Certified Pediatrician and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1994. She has worked as a medical director for entities and has a special interest in Weight Management acquiring a certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2017 current until 2027. She also currently serves as a medical director for Octapharma Plasma with sites in Louisville and Lexington with CLIA certification.

She has a son Garret, a graduate from University of Kentucky and Wake Forest Law School, now practicing in Louisville KY. She is also a dedicated dog Mom to her pug Winston with great and fond memories for all her fur babies.

Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, pickleball, and swimming. She loves to travel with fond memories of exploring other countries and cultures. She especially enjoys our National Parks with love for the great outdoors, hiking and snorkeling.
