Dr. Gibson enjoys mentoring Senior Dental Students from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He approaches dentistry with an artistic approach and attention to detail. He has enjoyed taking continuing education with Dr. David Hornbrook and hands on surgical courses with Bicon Dental Implants. He has also done dental mission trips to Jamaica and Dominican Republic in the past. He enjoys traveling and sports and has been known to be foodie. He has just recently returned from Egypt where he rode camels and saw the Pyramids and went scuba diving in the Red Sea.
Dr. Gibson completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville with a B.A. in Biology (93). He was also a member of the University of Louisville Cheerleading team when they won the NCA Cheerleading National Championship (92,96). He traveled to Tokyo and Taiwan with the Cheerleading team to perform and teach cheerleading clinics. He also participated cheered part time while in Dental School (94,96). Dr. Gibson obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at University of Louisville Dental School (97). He was awarded the Horace Wells Senior Student Dental Anesthesiology Award and did an Oral Surgery Externship at MCV in Richmond Virginia before graduation.
Dr. Gibson has almost 25 years experience as a dentist and 15+ years of that in private practice. He owned his own practice that had a high emphasis on Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry (2000-2015). Dr. Gibson performed Invisalign, Full-Mouth Reconstruction as well as Dentoalveolar Surgery and General Dentistry. Since working full time at FHC he has become a Adjunct Instructor in Comprehensive Dentistry for the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and Preceptor Clinical Instructor for the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he enjoys mentoring and training senior dental students from both UK/UL dental school during their AHEC rotations. Dr. Gibson collaborates with Jewish Hospital and the UL Health Center for Advanced Heart Failure and Thoracic Transplantation Ventricular Assist Device Program.
