A highly anticipated new addition to Family Health Centers’ (FHC) roster of healthcare services was implemented at two Louisville locations, FHC Portland and FHC East Broadway. Both now provide immediate walk-in care for adult patients with urgent medical needs (pediatric services will be available this fall).
“We are extremely pleased to offer urgent care for the many Louisvillians who require immediate medical attention,” states Bart Irwin, Chief Executive Officer. “Immediate care has been at the top of our list for FHC’s expansion of services for quite some time, and it’s gratifying to see it come to fruition. Its function and importance reinforce our mission to provide access to high-quality healthcare services for the men and women in our community, without regard to the ability to pay.”
Immediate Care at Family Health Centers is open Monday through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Patients can walk to FHC’s primary care locations for medical care or be added to a waitlist. Patients on the waitlist may rest at home and be contacted when an immediate care staff member is ready to see them.
